Ohman Not in the Mets Future

David O’Brien from the AJC has written on his blog that he believes LHP Will Ohman is close to coming to an agreement with the Braves. A good move for the Braves as he was one of the centerpieces of the rag tag bunch they had in the bullpen last year.

With Ohman going off the market it’s more and more likely that Minaya won’t sign anymore pitchers to major league deals. Last night the Mets came to an agreement with right hander Elmer Dessens on a minor league contract, and will invite him to major league camp at spring training.

With less than 10 days till pitchers and catchers report, we’re likely to see most of the free agents out there sign deals so they can get to camp on time.
