With the Huston Street deal falling through, the denial of any talks between the Mets and Blue Jays regarding BJ Ryan, and the steep asking price for the Mariners’ JJ Putz, it seems ever more likely that the Mets are going to go the free agent route to find their next closer.
Expect the Mets to have a done deal with K-Rod or another free agent closer by Thursday, the last day of the winter meetings.
