The Colorado Rockies today agreed to terms with reliever Alan Embree. Embree, which sources close to the Mets say had been mentioned in internal discussions incase the Mets dealt Pedro Feliciano to the Rockies.
The signing of Embree makes it less likely that Feliciano will be dealt as Schoeneweiss is not believed to be a suitable lefty specialist.
As far as it is known the Mets have yet to have discussions with any Relivers regarding depth in their bullpen. The only Relievers not scheduled to return from last year are Billy Wagner due to injury and Luis Ayla, Wagner’s replacement at season’s end.
