Updating previous stories, the Houston Astros came to terms on agreement with catcher Ivan Rodriquez on a one year $1.5 million contract ESPN is reporting.
The Mets who had said to have had interest in Pudge if they were able to trade back up catcher Ramon Castro have received very little interest from other clubs. Even though Pudge is off the market the Mets are expected to continue to look to trade Castro as Minaya feels third string catcher Robinson Cancel will be able to serve as a less expensive back up than Castro. Cancel, if in the majors this year would make the league minimum $400k.
