Minaya expands his left field targets

With Moises Alou and his 50 ab’s last season out of the Mets’ locker room, Omar Minaya will be looking for a dependable bat to add to the lineup. The Mets had originally been rumored to target low cost options such as the Royals’ Mark Teahan, but economic worries by other teams have brought some more familiar names into the discussion.

It appears the Braves are the most willing to give a large contract to an outfielder this offseason, but with the plethora of names available, it will sure be with in the Mets abilities to get a great deal on a top outfielder.

Some of the names being tossed around within the Mets’ organization include Bobby Abreu, Pat Burrell, Adam Dunn, and Raul Ibanez. All four of which would fill a different niche in the Mets’ lineup next season.

Ibanez the most well rounded of the group has been said to be on the Mets radar since the season ended, but the additions of the other three to the target list greatly expands their possibilities.
